Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Tribal Wars Map collects when you use the website, why, how long it is kept and what your rights are. It applies to tribalwarsmap.com (including all world subdomains such as en157.tribalwarsmap.com) and tribalwarsmap.net.
Tribal Wars Map is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with Tribal Wars or InnoGames.
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for your data is the operator of Tribal Wars Map. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].
2. Data we collect
Visiting the website
Every visit passes through Cloudflare (see section 5), which receives your IP address and the details of your request in order to deliver the page and protect the site against attacks. Our web server does not keep a log of normal visits. If a page causes a technical error, the error log records the time, the page and your IP address; this log is deleted automatically after 14 days.
Your map settings
When you use the map, the site creates a random ID and stores it in a cookie (see section 3). Your map settings, saved map configurations, notes you place on the map and map images you create are saved on our server together with that ID, the time and your IP address. The IP address is kept to protect against abuse, such as spam notes.
Logging in with your Tribal Wars account
Logging in is optional and is used for private and tribe maps and their permissions. If you log in, you are sent to the official Tribal Wars website, where you sign in. We never see your Tribal Wars password. Tribal Wars then tells us your player name. We store your player name, your user ID, the time of your last login and your IP address.
Public game data
The maps, statistics, graphs and history pages are built from the public world data that InnoGames publishes for every Tribal Wars world. This includes player and tribe names, villages, points and conquests. Player history is kept for about one month, and the data of a world is removed some time after the world has closed.
Translators
The translation page uses Google reCAPTCHA to block automated spam. reCAPTCHA sends information about your browser and your interaction with the page to Google.
3. Cookies
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
userid, userid_<world> | Tribal Wars Map | A random ID that links your browser to your saved map settings. Necessary for the map to remember your settings. | 1 year |
<world>_user | Tribal Wars Map | Keeps you logged in after logging in with your Tribal Wars account. | 1 year, or until you log out |
Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga) | Visitor statistics (see section 4). | Up to 2 years | |
| Google advertising cookies | Showing, measuring and (if you allow it) personalising ads (see section 4). | Up to 13 months | |
Consent cookies (e.g. FCCDCF) | Remembers your consent choice. | Up to 13 months |
Our own cookies are only used to make the site work and are not used for tracking or advertising.
4. Advertising, statistics and your consent
The site is funded by ads from Google AdSense and uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which features are used. Both are provided by Google Ireland Limited.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent message provided by Google. Google is certified for the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. Until you make a choice, and if you refuse, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. You then still see ads, but they are not personalised and are based only on the page you are viewing. You can change your choice at any time (see section 7).
Visitors in other countries receive personalised ads and are counted in Google Analytics. Where your local law gives you a right to opt out, you can do so with the link in section 7, with your browser settings, or through Google's ad settings.
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. More information: How Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy.
5. Service providers
| Provider | What for | Location |
|---|---|---|
| netcup GmbH | Server hosting the website and its database | Germany |
| Hetzner Online GmbH | Storage for backups of the website and database | Germany |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Delivering the website and protecting it against attacks | Worldwide network, company in the USA |
| Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC | Ads (AdSense), statistics (Analytics), consent message, reCAPTCHA | Ireland / USA |

Cloudflare and Google may process data in the USA. Both companies take part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and transfers are also covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. Legal basis and how long we keep data
- Running and securing the site (Cloudflare, error log, the IP address stored with notes and settings): our legitimate interest in operating a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Saving your map settings and logging you in: providing the features you ask for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The necessary cookies are allowed without consent because the features cannot work without them.
- Analytics and advertising cookies in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Retention:
- Saved map images and settings backups are deleted automatically after 500 days.
- Map settings, configurations, notes and login data are kept for as long as you use them. They are also deleted on request, or when the game world they belong to is removed.
- Error log entries are deleted after 14 days.
- Backups are kept for up to one year and then overwritten.
7. Your choices and rights
Change privacy & cookie settings
If the button does nothing, a browser extension may be blocking Google's consent tool. You can also delete the cookies for this site in your browser settings.
Under data protection law (such as the GDPR and UK GDPR) you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected or deleted
- restrict or object to its use
- receive it in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time
Email [email protected] to use these rights. Tell us your world and player name, or the ID from your userid cookie, so we can find your data. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
8. Children
The site is meant for Tribal Wars players and does not knowingly collect data from children under 16 beyond what is described above.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
